Do you provide warranty for Irwin wheels?

Yes, our wheelsets are warranted to be free from manufacturing defects in material and workmanship for 2 YEARS from the date of the original purchase from an authorized Irwin dealer/distributor. The warranty applies only to the original owner and does not transfer to subsequent owners.

Do Irwin road wheels come with brake pads?

Yes, our wheels will be delivered with 4 pairs of exclusive brake pads for carbon road wheels, 2 pairs for road disc wheel, and 2 pairs of exclusive brake pads for alloy road wheels. Please make sure to use IRWIN exclusive brake pads with road wheels to maintain warranty conditions.

Why must we use Irwin exclusive brake pads

Our brake pads for carbon road wheels can dissipate the heat and increase braking performance, for alloy road wheels can avoid the braking surface subjected to excessive wear and tear.

Is free hub compatible with Shimano road 11-speed?

Yes, it is compatible with Shimano 11-speed, and with a spacer to convert to 10-speed.

Is free hub interchangeable for Campagnolo system?

Yes, it is interchangeable for Campy 11-speed free hub.

How many ceramic bearings are in the road hubs?

There are 2 in the front and 4 in the rear. Front bearing is 6900(x2). Rear bearing is 6902(x4).

Yes, it is compatible with Shimano 11-speed, and with a spacer to convert to 10-speed.

There are 2 in the front and 4 in the rear. Front bearing is 18307(x2). Rear bearing is 17287(x4).

Is free hub compatible with Shimano MTB 11-speed?

Yes, it is compatible with Shimano MTB 8-11-speed after installing a spacer.

Is free hub interchangeable for SRAM XX1 11-speed system?

Yes, it is interchangeable for SRAM XX1 11-speed free hub.

How many bearings are in the MTB hubs?

There are 2 in the front and 4 in the rear.

For MTB hub, front bearing is 6804(x2), rear bearing is 17287(x4).

For MTB boost hub, front bearing is 18307(x2), rear bearing is 17287(x4).

Do your wheels have a rider weight limit

For all models with exception of IA-22, we recommend a weight limit of 100 kilograms (220 lbs.), to achieve the best performance, durability and safety. For IA-22, we recommend weight limit of 85 kilograms (187 lbs.).

Are Irwin wheels hand built?

We utilize precise hand built methods by professional craftsmen exceeding Irwin Wheel Technology standard with a maximum lateral tolerance of 0.3mm, radial tolerance of 0.4mm and dishing tolerance of 0.5mm.

How to choose the appropriate grease for the ratchet mechanism?

The grade of the grease applied in the ratchet and pawl area, must have an NLGI rating of 00, 0, or 1. Do not use oils with tackifying additives, such as Phil’s Tenacious Oil®, as these can gum up the mechanism and cause the pawls to stick.

Why do you choose external nipples for the rim?
  1. When adjusting the spoke tension or truing the wheel, you do not need to remove the tire, tube and rim strap.
  2. It is adjustable from both sides of the nipple, either by using the standard nipple driver or from the inside using the inverted straight nipple driver.

Yes, we provide high pressure blue TLR rim tape installed with all TLR wheelsets.

Do Irwin carbon road wheels come with valve extenders?

Yes, we provide 2 pieces of valve extenders for carbon road wheels with exception of road disc wheel.

Do Irwin carbon road wheels come with 'Quick Release' skewers?

Yes, QR skewers are included. Our light and strong skewer sits “true” in the frame and fork.
